The Hosts

Andy Apuy is diverse writer both ethnically (mostly Chinese, contaminated with Portuguese and Irish) and stylistically (wears her hair up and down as well as contact lens and glasses). Andy’s experience as a writer is professional because she has done her time as a producer at CNN on “Piers Morgan Live” and and “CNN Tonight with Don Lemon”. Currently, she hangs in Los Angeles in the writers’ room of “Trial & Error” on NBC and she hangs with improv and musical improv with teams “Musical, the Musical,” “Murder Murder” and “808 Hip Hop Improv.”

Tara Copeland has been performing and teaching improv comedy for over 15 years. She’s been a member of the UCB community since 1997 and was a member of the Harold Team Mother at UCBNY for over ten years. She can be seen every Thursday at 7pm at UCB Sunset with the musical improv house team Magic To Do and is a regular performer in the monthly show, Gravid Water. Tara is also the founder of the political Facebook Group “Women With Her” which has over 10k subscribed participants.

Mélia Mills is an Oakland, CA native. She graduated from UCLA with a BA in Theater Arts. Mélia is a writer, comedian, actress, and rapper. Recently she wrote, created, produced, directed and acted in Juneteenth - An Emancipation Celebration to a sold out crowd at UCB Sunset. She co-starred in the Warner Bros. film Black August and the UCB/Universal Pilot SING! She performed in Boston’s Women in Comedy Festival and has been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle and Funny Women UK magazine. Mélia currently is a writer and performer on UCB’s House Team, Characters Welcome and iO West’s House Team, Character World. She’s opened for Dave Chappelle and Gad Elmaleh, the "Jerry Seinfeld of France", and worked on script and character development for Sacha Baron Cohen.

Ashley Ward is a comedian, actress and singer originally from Conyers, GA. She performed improv and sketch comedy all over New York City for 13 years before making the move to LA. She also appeared in several off broadway shows including the New York Times Critic’s Pick “50 Shades! The Original Musical Parody” which she also co-wrote. Ashley is thrilled to perform at UCB she is also a former Jeopardy! Champion. This is not a joke.
